Privacy Policy

DueAction helps you keep track of returns, refunds, free trials, warranties and renewals. This page explains what information the app handles and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose.

The short version

Information you add

You choose what to put in DueAction: item names, dates, amounts, store names, order numbers, notes, checklists, and any documents or photos you attach. This information is stored in the app's private storage on your device.

The database and your attachments are encrypted, using keys kept in Android's secure key storage where your phone supports it.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers or advertising identifiers. The app contains no advertising or analytics tools. The name you enter in Settings is stored only on your phone, to greet you.

Use of the internet

To show a store's logo, the app may ask Google's public favicon service for the logo of a website address guessed from the store name you entered. For some items it may also search a public icon service (iconify.design) using the item's name. These requests go directly from your phone to those services. They can see your phone's internet address and the name in the request, and they handle it under their own privacy policies.

You can turn this off in Settings, Data & Privacy, by switching off "Load logos online". The app then uses built-in icons only.

Store and brand logos are shown only to help you recognize your own items at a glance. Showing a logo does not mean that store, brand or DueAction endorses, sponsors or is affiliated with the other. Any names and logos remain the property of their owners.

If you save a link on an item and open it, your browser or another app opens it. That app's own policies apply.

Permissions the app asks for

Backups and exports

A backup is a single file, protected by a password you choose. You decide where it is saved. We do not receive it, we do not keep your password, and we cannot recover either. If you lose the password, the backup cannot be opened.

A CSV export is a plain file that anyone who has it can read. Share it carefully.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your information. Your data leaves your phone only when you choose to make a backup or export, share something, or open a link, and through the logo requests described above. Apps you choose to send files to, such as email or cloud storage, handle them under their own terms.

Security

We use encryption and other safeguards to protect the information on your device. No system is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. Your phone's own protection matters too: anyone who can unlock your phone can open DueAction unless you turn on the app lock in Settings. Keep your phone updated, and keep backups and passwords somewhere safe.

Your choices and deleting your data

You can edit or delete any item at any time, and deleting an item also removes its documents. Uninstalling the app removes its data from your phone. Backup and export files you created stay wherever you saved them, so delete those yourself if you no longer want them. You can turn off notifications and online logos in Settings.

Children

DueAction is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always in the app, with its date at the top.
